It’s a few weeks now that these mobile homes are sitting in GA’s parking lot, when are they to be assigned to families next summer? Now here is my next question Louisiana receiver hundreds of these type units how many did NJ and NY receive? When I start to point out simple facts people label me as a bigot and a racist so you come to your won conclusions as to why!

I agree....damit this is ridiculous now....how long to people have to wait to get to some kind of normalcy ? I am a single dad waiting for a trailer or somthing....but there are people with 3 or 4 kids . And whrn you talk to fema they act like they are approving you for a mortgage. Ive never spoken to such nasty heartless people then at the 1800 number....and they are there to help ? Yeah ok just like any of the familys will directly benefit from these bs concerts

What some people fail to realize is these trailers can't simply be placed anywhere. There needs to be electric to hook them into and there also needs to be sewer to be hooked into. Hence the reason they are being placed in trailer parks, where those hookups are available.

My Christmas wish is that the people who are truly in need get help. I'm so sick of all the people who recd and will continue to receive $ . Who don't deserve it. People getting checks and housing when they had places to go (like a second home) or borrowing friend s vacant home for no rent. How about the perverts from seaside , did the get handed a check too!

There are a lot of "cheats," particularly people who are lying about Shore homes being their primary residence. Hope FEMA weeds these people out.

Also, Michael Reina is right about $$ from concerts and major fund-raisers. If you look into the recipients of $$ from Robin Hood Foundation (concert $$ went here) and Red Cross, you're likely to share my opinion. Want to help? Give to someone specifically.

The Robin Hood Fund just gave 1 Million Dollars to the Affordable Housing Alliance in Monmouth County. They supply rentals and purchaseable homes to families with low or moderate income.

Unfortunately, what it really comes down to is that you need to help your self out of this mess!! I would not rely on the Gov to come to your rescue. Dig deep work hard, find a way back.

They got a ship and a Hospital ship to help in LA....When is FEMA going to trickel down to these folks.....they NEED help now.. not promises..for a later date. There NEED is now for crisp sakes..Elected Officials where are YOU ??? And what are YOU doing ??? I talked with Berkeley police chief and she said that they are not allowing these trailers on our properties. I guess because we are all in a flood zone. I am also a single dad and dont care to live in a trailer park but I will do what I have to do. However, how many mobile vacancies (lots) can they have in Ocean County? I dont think there are that many trailer parks to begin with. I asked FEMA just after the storm and ever since if they had some type of waiting list, but they said no. How and they heck would you even get in line to be put on a list?

First, let me say that I have been a mobile home dweller for almost 20 years of my adult life. Second, we have a right to safe and decent housing. Would you want to live in a home of shoddy construction? Code now calls for a concrete pad under the mobile home to attach hurricaine tie downs to. Presently, most empty lots are just that, empty lots that need to have the concrete pad done first. Otherwise, you run the risk of the home toppling over as what happened in one NJ mobile home park. We want people to be safe, don't we? On a side note, this was my second hurricaine in my mobile home. Many of us remained in our homes. Not only do I have neighbors, I have friends. After Sandy, we helped each other with information, food, heat, batteries, encouragement, etc. I love where I live and the friends I have here. We are expecting to have 17 empty lots filled here in the near future and those homes are earmarked for the homeless victims of Sandy. Assuming these families have school aged children, the logistics of where they will go to school, transportation to the school and other concerns must be worked out by the town as well. None of us like the delay, but, these things must be dealt with. Let's hope the red tape doesn't go on forever.

What I don't understand is why the governors of NJ and NY are not requesting these mobile homes for the people of there states! FEMA has 2000 of these homes available right now!
