Brick Woman Hits Parked Car, Reports Deer Strike
Arrested for drunken driving, other charges pending
A Brick woman was arrested and charged early Wednesday morning with drunken driving and a host of other violations after she crashed into a parked car in West Long Branch but tried to tell police she had hit a deer in Wall.
Debra A. Giaquinto, 56, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit a breath test, reckless driving, careless driving and operating an unsafe vehicle. Additional charges are pending out of West Long Branch, Sgt. Joseph Wilbert said.
Giaquinto’s 2010 Hundai Elantra was disabled on Route 18 near Brighton Ave around 2:16 a.m. She told Patrolman Todd Verrecchia that she had hit a deer and requested an accident report, Wilbert said.
Verrecchia determined that the extensive damage to Giaquinto’s car was inconsistent with a deer strike. His investigation ended when it was determined that Giaquinto was driving in West Long Branch and struck a parked Acura sedan and fled. Following the crash, Giaquinto drove 13 miles without operating headlights until her car gave out from the damage on Route 18, Wilbert said.
A Wall First Aid & Rescue crew was called after Giaquinto complained of an arm injury. She refused treatment, Wilbert said.
Anyone with additional information about the incident is urged to contact Patrolman David Drosonski of the West Long Branch Police Department at (732) 299-5000 or Patrolman Todd Verrecchia of the Wall Township Police department at (732) 449-4500.

It is ridiculous that these drunk drivers think they can drive and put everyone at risk. Individuals continually kill innocent people because of there complete recklessness by driving drunk. We need to make the penalties stiffer to put a stop to it, maybe then it will sink in for some. I have to laugh at individuals who only blame the teenagers for drinking and driving when there is plenty Adults of all ages and both sexes who do it and should know better.

Funny thing about your comment is that cops do it all the time. They just get away with it. No one breaks more laws then the cops.
