Cops: Prostitution, Aggravated Assault and Burglary Busts

Numerous arrests this week for a variety of crimes

A Beachwood woman was arrested and charged Tuesday with prostitution at a local motel, police said.

Jessica Miserendino, 35, was arrested and charged with promoting and engaging in prostitution at a Route 35 motel, Sgt. Erik Ertle said. The hotel was not named.

Detective Sean O’Halloran was the arresting officer, Ertle said.

Also on Tuesday, Richard Clark, 47, of Bridgeport, Conn., was arrested and charged with second degree aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possess of a knife, Ertle said.

Clark’s arrest stems from a Nov. 8 incident at a Route 35 motel where police say Clark slashed a 26-year-old Connecticut resident with a knife, Ertle said.

The victim, whose name was not released, received stitches at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. The two were in New Jersey working at a Point Pleasant grocery store that had sustained damage from Hurricane Sandy, Ertle said.

Clark was released after posting $35,000 bail, Ertle said.

Stephanie Dibenedetto, 22, of Howell, was arrested and charged on Wednesday for a June 18 burglary on Woodfield Road, Ertle said.

She was also charged with a June 15 burglary on Martin Road. Bail for the two crimes was set at $12,000, Ertle said.

Dibenedetto was taken to Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, where she is being held on similar charges in other towns, with a total bail amount of $46,000, according to jail records.
