County Citizen Police Academy Accepting Applications

Applicants can not have a criminal record and be at least 18 years of age in order to apply for the Monmouth County Citizen Police Academy

 

Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden announced applications are now being accepted for enrollment in the 16th Annual Citizen Police Academy.

The Citizen Police Academy is a 12-hour block of instruction designed to give attendees an overview of law enforcement services in Monmouth County. The instruction features presentations by municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

The course consists of six sessions on consecutive Tuesday evenings, 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Monmouth County Police Academy in Freehold. The course is also the prerequisite for becoming a member of the VISCOMP Volunteer Program.

To apply for the Citizen Police Academy, applicants can not have a criminal record and must be at least 18-years-old. The deadline for applying is Sunday, Sept. 30. Enrollment is limited. There is no fee for the course.

Classes will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 16 with graduation on Tuesday, Nov. 27.
