District Eliminates Meeting Time From Schedule

Sessions to discuss proposed changes to the Intermediate School have been reduced from three to two

The School District has cut one of the meeting time slots from its schedule of session to discuss proposed changes to next year's Intermediate School schedule.

The district intended to hold three meetings on a proposal that would move some music instruction to a before- or after-school session for the 2012-13 school year, the first of which was held Monday.

On Tuesday, the district had scheduled two more meetings -- one at 7 p.m. and one at 8 p.m. at the Intermediate School. That has been changed to just one meeting, beginning at 7 p.m., according to the district website. (As one reader points out, the meeting is scheduled at the same time as the West Belmar School Spring Concert.)

While no explanation was given for cutting a meeting, Monday's session ran 2 1/2 hours.

Wall Patch held a live chat during Monday's session. We plan to do the same for Tuesday's session, to run as long as a computer battery will hold out. Please check back at 7 p.m. for a live updates from the meeting.

Wow, the meeting yesterday was scheduled at a time when many work. Today's meeting is scheduled for the same time as the West Belmar Grammar School's Spring Concert. Ironic, isn't it?

Guess I'll have to clone myself to attend.
