Wall Woman Killed In Route 34 Collision
Accident occurred hours after power to the traffic light was turned on
A Wall Township woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a collision at the intersection of Route 34 and Belmar Boulevard, police said.
The collision occurred around 1 p.m. when Andre Volk, 44, of Freehold, driving northbound on Route 34 in a 2005 Ford F-250 pick-up, hit the 2000 Mercedes Benz driven by Gina M. Nobes, 55, of Wall, police said.
Nobes was ejected from the vehicle during collision. She was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township, where she was pronounced dead.
Wall Township First Aid, Wall Township EMS and MONOC responded to the scene, and the state highway was shut down around the intersection for about two hours, Sgt. Chad Clark said.
The intersection was among only a handful that were powered with a working traffic signal at the time of the collision.
There was no word whether any charges had been filed.
The collision is currently under investigation by the Wall Township Police and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team, Clark said.
Anyone who saw the collision is asked to please contact Sgt. Chad Clark or Patrolman Adam Cox at (732) 449-4500.

Lisa - they are looking for witnesses - please call Wall Twp Police - They are under the impression the light was working - since the cones had been removed... Otherwise how could she have even crossed Belmar Boulevard?!?!
