A viewing for Gabrielle Hillman of Belmar will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Reilly Funeral Home, Belmar, with a funeral mass to follow at 3 p.m. at The Church of Saint Rose, Belmar. 

Hillman, 21, was found dead in her dorm room at Delaware Valley College Oct. 8. The Saint Rose High School graduate was a small animal science major who made weekly trips home to volunteer at an animal shelter in Tinton Falls.

"It's sad and hard to believe. She was a young, bright girl with a long future ahead of her," said Lindsay Papa, an employee at the Associated Humane Society in Tinton Falls.

Authorites have not yet released a cause of death although officials in Doylestown and Bucks County had appeared to rule out foul play or suicide. 

In lieu of flowers, the Hillman family asks that donation in her name be made to the Humane Society of Tinton Falls.
