Fallen Tree Limb Knocks Out Power to 1,300
Jersey Central Power & Light reported a major power outage in area Thursday morning
A fallen limb caused a major power outage in town Thursday morning as more than 1,300 were without electricity for more than an hour.
The limb fell on power lines on Allaire Road, west of Baileys Corner Road, Sgt. Joseph Wilbert said.
The high school and board of education offices were among those without power from about 8 a.m. to after 9 a.m., along with about 1,380 other businesses and residences.
Four intersections lost power, requireing Wall Police and the state Highway Department to direct traffic during the outage, Wilbert said.
Traffic lights at Route 34 and Allenwood Road, Route 138 and Club Drive, Route 138 and Allenwood Road and 18th at New Bedford Road were affected, Wilbert said.
JCP&L crews removed the fallen limb and power was restored to all Wall customers around 9:30 a.m., Wilbert said.

They cut the tree limbs when there are leaves on them and that they leave a V around the power line instead of just cutting it off completely. I guess they have their reasons but living off 18th Ave all these years and dealing with this for so many years, I just don't get it.
