Morning Update: Day 6, For Some; Others Regained Power Overnight

Another day without power for a lot of Wall residents, but some received power overnight

Good Morning, Wall Township.

For some, this is Day 6 without power. But overnight, various parts of the township began to regain electricity. Portions of the south end received power around 8 p.m. West Belmar started to come online overnight, too.

For the rest, we hope it’s not too much longer.

The Intermediate School was reopened for Wall residents again last night as an emergency shelter from the cold. It will be open again tonight, according to the Office of Emergency Management.

There have been questions about schools and Tuesday’s election. There will be no change to any of the polling stations in Wall on Tuesday. Everything planned before the storm remains the same after it, according to the OEM. Vote as you normally would.

As for schools, Superintendent Daniel Simon has said in a message to parents that schools will be closed Monday at least. A decision on Tuesday and the rest of the wek has not yet been made.

Today is an even day. Under the new gas rationing system, anyone with an even final digit on their license plate has the right to sit in whichever gasoline line he or she chooses for hours on end to fill a tank. Good luck to you.

Today, as many of you wake up to another day without power, we sympathize. But take a look at a few pictures we took in Belmar on Saturday. Your neighbors are really hurting.

I'm in Colorado and have been trying to get some information regarding my sister. Would be so grateful if someone could tell me if the Barbara Lynn Apartments, 2137 8th Avenue, Highway 71, Sea Girt (Wall Township), have power again. Anyone who knows, please advise.

Seems like the alternate day gas schedule along with ice and water at the circle outlets has helped, greatly. Still no power along 18th avenue and allenood, road. Jcp and L's schedule to the governor of friday said, all but 800 in wall to have power by end of Nov 4th. It looks like they are running late as large sections are still out and last night the updated total outages on firstmmergy's page was over 6000
