Police Arrest 9 Over St. Patrick's Day Holiday

Drunken driving, drug possession among charges

Police arrested nine people over the St. Patrick’s Day holiday on drunken driving, minor drug possession and other charges.

Scott Carnie, 51, of Neptune, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash on Allenwood-Lakewood Road around 7:14 p.m. Saturday Patrolman Vincent Mazzaccaro was the arresting officer, Sgt. Kenneth Brown said.

Brian Kruthers, 26, of Wall, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing a public highway and possession of marijuana following a suspicious person investigation on Route 71 around 8:42 p.m. Saturday, Patrolman Dan Santoro was the arresting officer, Brown said.

Robert Tejada, 23, of Jackson, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Route 138 around 9:55 p.m. Saturday. Detective Sean O’Halloran was the arresting officer, Brown said.

Three juveniles were arrested following a noise complaint in the Sea Girt Estates section of town. Patrolman Jason Lamb arrested a female juvenile for possession of marijuana and two male juveniles were arrested for being under the influence of alcohol while underage around 10:26 p.m. Saturday. The trio were later released to their parents or guardians, Brown said.

Tazio Brown, 33, of Manalapan was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Route 34 around 1:31 a.m. Sunday by Patrolman Frank Kuhl, Brown said.

Kristen Van Fechtmann, 32, of Middletown was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Route 138 around 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Patrolman Jason Lamb was the arresting officer.

During the stop, the passenger of the vehicle, Kristin Dougherty, 24, of Florida, also was charged with obstruction and resisting arrest, Brown said.
