Thanks goodness she is okay however this story has a lot of holes. She was first reported missing at 1:30 am - why would the parents not report her missing immediately? Then she magically shows up at school this morning?

What ever happened I am so happy she is back home, I have a 10 years old girl and sometime she must walk by herself back home. Parents must to talk with their kids about all the danger outside to make them be alert not scare. Meet with other parents at the school who can look around with the kids that they know. As a parents we have to help each other to keep our kids safe.

Lori, the girl definitely left the school, but it appears she never came home, but ended up going to school today. Police typically do not comment on situations such as this, so it is hard to flesh it out with more details.

It's not Anastasia Middle School . It's an elementary school. Her name is Lizbeth. Get the facts straight.

Elizabeth is the name the LB Police gave me this morning in their code red alert. The school name error is my fault and it will be corrected.

More importantly, why are the taxpayers of Long Branch paying to educate, feed, babysit, police, and insure the children of illegal immigrants. I know the state probably picks up most of the tab, but us taxpayers are stuck with a whole lot more. Such as the pensions and healthcare costs of their teachers. And the upkeep of the new schools. This is not to disparage the Mexican community in LB, on the contrary, most are hard-working, good parents. But if it was not for these so called Dream Kids, we would need 1 school and a handful of Teachers. They are welcome in my community, but dont make LB homeowners pay the tab.

Do you have children? Regardless of race any child going missing and god knows what happening is a worst case scenario that can leave a community in shambles. Thank goodness this little girl turned up. And Long Branch, of which I have been a resident 7 years, is a huge town and we would no doubt need more than one school to accommodate all the children whether some where "dream kids" or not. And we all immigrated from somewhere to get to America. Have a heart.

My son goes to this school and we all got a message from the principal saying that the girl was fine and in good spirits and it was a parental miscommunication. Glad to hear as how I was in total shock when I heard that my ex went to drop off our son and there where police and fire trucks and a news crew there this morning. Eek!

On a side note, why is the moderator deleting my comments. Was it because I referenced an article in another paper that had more details?

A parents worst nightmare is a missing child. Everyday i see children that walk alone who should have a parent with them. Not only at school. I work retail and see it dailey. When this happen it made me sick to my stomach. i pray that parents wise up and start paying attention. I can imagine the stress the principal and teachers went thru. Thank god the child is alright.

Thank God she's is alright, but there are questions, how does this child who is not home all night, then end up in the school the next day. That sounds like a safety issue, and the parents of this child report it 1:30 in the morning, something does not appear to be right, unless the story is wrong????? My heart and prayers goes out to this child.
