School Board Set To Swear In New Members
Thursday organization meeting will fill board with new members
Three new school board members are scheduled to take their seats on the 9-member panel Thursday during the board’s organization meeting.
Board President John Tavis will join newcomers Robin Zawodniak and Kenneth J. Dioguardi and Mary Catherine McCarthy in a swearing-in ceremony when the board meets at 8 p.m. at the Intermediate School.
No agenda was posted for the meeting Wednesday morning.
Tavis won a full, three-year term on the board in the November elections, along with Zawodniak and Dioguardi. The three were uncontested in the race. McCarthy, who won a one-year seat, finishing out the unexpired term of longtime board member Laurie Cannon, who resigned last year.
McCarthy also was appointed to fill Cannon’s seat until the end of last year.

The crisp winds of welcome change continue to breathe new life into our schools. Will Mrs. Cannon attend to receive a formal send off?
