I am both a customer and an independent associate for Viridian Energy, they provide a renewable energy choice as a 3rd party energy company. Since the company began because of their customers choices there have been over 2 billion lbs of CO2 emissions avoided.

I complain about them only picking up recycling every two weeks (if we're lucky).

I don't jump on the newest green bandwagon only to find out later that it either doesn't work, or it causes other problems, or the resources to produce that green product causes harm to the environment, or the huge government subsidies had more to do with political connections than the merits of the product, etc.
There are scrap metal places all over. They take all kinds of metal and materials that have small bits of metals like silver from old computer towers, cell phones, etc. You can take these to your recycling area of your town and get nothing or you can take to to a scrap metal places and get cash.
