UPDATE 6:00 p.m.: The three vehicles that collided on Route 34 near Belmar Boulevard have been cleared from the road and transportation crews were working to repair the signal at the busy intersection.
Traffic, earlier snarled because of the 4:25 p.m. collision, was flowing through the intersection. Both east- and westbound Belmar Boulevard traffic, however, was still being diverted around the intersection by 6:00 p.m.
-------- Earlier Story ----------
A three-car crash on Route 34 and Belmar Boulevard has snarled traffic as emergency workers attempt to help the injured and clear the busy intersection.
The crash happened about 4:25 p.m. and involves two sedans and an SUV. One northbound lane of the state highway is blocked, funneling traffic through one lane around the accident.
Two sedans appear to have hit head-on in the lefthand northbound lane just south of the intersection with Belmar Boulevard. One sedan and one SUV are facing south in the northbound lanes.
Wall First Aid & Rescue squad was attending to one person who appeared to be trapped in a red sedan. Wall Police were directing traffic away from the accident from Belmar Boulevard. Traffic was able to pass southbound on Route 34.
The crash appears to have taken down a portion of the intersection's traffic signal. And the overhead signal also is inoperable as of 5:00 p.m.
No other information was immediately available.

That would be Wall Twp First Aid & Rescue Squad. They are volunteers. Wall EMS is the townships paid squad via the PD.
