Brielle woman, Little Silver man taken to hospital

Two were hurt in a Friday afternoon collision on Belmar Boulevard, police said.

Edna Moore, 72, of Brielle was traveling southbound on Wyckoff Road around 3:41 p.m. when she failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a westbound pickup truck driven by Brian Kayhart, 23, of Point Beach, Sgt. Patrick Connor said.

A passenger in the truck, Clayton Smith, 46, of Little Silver, suffered a head injury. Moore had rib injuries, Connor said. Both were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, by Wall EMS and MONOC paramedics. Glendola Fire Department also assisted, Conner said.
