Wall Man Charged With Rape Of 13-Year-Old

Grand jury hands up a 4-count indictment Monday

A Wall man has been charged with the rape of a 13-year-old child, according to court documents.

A grand jury on Monday handed up a four-count indictment against Jahvon W. Stroud, of New Bedford Road, for the alleged sexual assault of the minor on May 18, according to the indictment.

The incident occurred in Wall. The indictment does not say where.

Stroud, 19, is charged with second degree sexual assault and second degree sexual assault with a minor between the ages of 13 and 16, according to the indictment.

He also is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child — one involving the 13-year-old and another involving an 8-year-old child on the same day. The 8-year-old was in Stroud's care, according to the indictments.

The second count of child endangerment says that Stroud engaged in sexual conduct that could impair the 8-year-old child, but does not charge him with sexual assault.

It was not immediately clear if the children were related, or if they were related to Stroud.

Stroud was not listed as an inmate in the Monmouth County jail Monday, according to jail records.

Stroud made bail in the amount of $85,000, Acting Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said. Gramiccioni declined further comment.

Hmmm, sounds like those "low income" apartments are really good for the community. Is anyone else getting tired of so many people thinking it is ok to do zero and get something for it? Piece of cr@p graduates from Wall H.S. in 2012. Pays zero to go to the high school and family pays zero property taxes. Gets to live in the town at a reduced rate because they can't afford a fair market rate. Hope and change? ha really?

Knight, Didn't you know that sterotyping is a "SIN" and a "CRIME". Jobs are hard to find these days. You probably have a 6 figure income and can afford it. "low income" does not mean "BAD". "low income" means that "low income" nothing else, Just people who need assistance. Jobs are hard to find and the minimun wage is at poverty level. For your comment on the 2012 graduates of wall high, you are way out of line.

ummm Knight... I am pretty sure there even the proper people of Wall get into trouble. I problems being there before the low income came to wall. I think that that the problem is the crap people in the world. I know it easy to read every story and have a rant about the poor, and them wanting everything for free.. I think it is more concerning that there is a creep that was trusted around children. I dont think that the amount of taxes he does or does not pay will change that.

A frontal lobotomy would insure he won't do it again. They could have a lottery to see who gets to do it.

Does anyone else wonder how he made bail? How do ultra low income folks come up with that kind of coin ($85,000) for bail? Seriously? And If thats the case, should they even live there to begin with? If he is indeed guilty, I hope he fries.

I must have missed where the article indicated that this man lived in the low income housing. Aren't there other residential homes on New Bedford Road?
Interesting that everyone assumed he had low income.

I agree with you, Kight brought up the comment about low income. it is sad that some people have to assume that every robery, rape or any other crime is committed by low income people. people should get the facts first befor posting anything.

Low income or not it is interesting to me, how a 19 year old comes up with $85,000 cash for bail for such crimes.

Most 19 year olds that I know just don’t have access to those kinds of resources. In fact, most 29 year olds that I know also don’t have those kinds of raw resources available either. You are right; it was presumptuous for me to assume that he is low income, obviously not the case here.

Assuming there was 10% allowed that is still $8,500.00 which makes me wonder if Mom/Dad put a house up for their son. I'm sure we will here how he "thought" she was 18.
This is all my opinion only and not based on any facts.
