Each Township Committee member does more than the couple of hours a week for public meetings. Each is assigned to sit on various boards and sub-committees, giving each a particular sphere of influence in town. Each year, a host of residents pledge their time an energy to work on specific areas of Wall Township. Each new year brings a new mayor and a new deputy mayor, but much of the administration of the town remains the same. The lawyers, engineers and planners who handle some critical functions of the town are independent contractors, paid for with your tax money and hired by those you elected to make the right decisions.
