Wall squad members provided outstanding service during Hurricane Sandy

The members of Wall's Community First Aid were honored for their outstanding service to the community during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy at the most recent Wall Township Committee meeting.

Squad members were praised for giving needed assistance to the Police Department, checking on residents with special needs throughout the storm's aftermath, when most of the town was without power for up to two weeks, filling the oxygen tanks of those who needed it and distributing water, ice, clothing, batteries, cleaning supplies and food at the Circle Facorty Outlet for 10 days.

Members of the squad helped coordinate and man the emergency supply pickup at the outlet center for 12 hours a day. More than 12,000 cars came through the lines to get needed supplies.
