Care Package Items For Soliders Overseas Sought

Local chapter of the Blue Star Mothers collecting donations

The local chapter of the Blue Star Mothers -- mothers whose children are on active military duty -- is collecting donations for care packages to be shipped to military personnel stationed overseas.

A donation box will be placed, beginning Tuesday, at the Atlantic Club. A second donation box will also be placed at the Starbuck's coffee house on Route 35 in the Sea Girt shopping center.

The organization is looking for:

  • Small Christmas Trees, mini light sets, mini ornaments & assorted decorations
  • Menorahs – no candles please (battery operated only)
  • Stockings/Santa Hats,  BLANK  Holiday Cards (so they can send home)
  • Small Hand Held Games – i.e. Rubik cube, travel games yo-yo’s etc

Cards and letters of support are also always welcome.
