Library Collecting Homemade Goods for Sandy Victims

Nonprofit Blankie Depot is looking for newly made blankets, scarves, hats, etc.

Blankie Depot, a volunteer, nonprofit organization, is looking to give back to those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The company aims to provide homemade blankets to children who suffer from illness or trauma.

Blankie Depot is looking to collect large quilts, knitted or crochet hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, children's quilts, fleece blankets, sewn pillow cases, afghans and flannel robes.

A collection bin is currently located at the Monmouth County Library (near the DVD room) in Manalapan Township until Jan. 31, 2013.

Blankie Depot requests that all donations be newly made, machine washable and cleaned before being donated.

Can't make it to the Monmouth County Library? Directly send donations to Blankie Depot headquarters:

79 Jackson Street
Keyport, NJ 07735

Attn: H. Roberts, President

If you are shipping contributions, place the goods inside of a clear ziplock bag or a tall white kitchen bag before placing them in a shipping box. Include your name, address, and email in the box if you wish to receive a tax receipt from Blankie Depot.

If you are interested in volunteering with Blankie Depot, email director@blankiedepo.org.

All donations will help the residents displaced by superstorm Sandy.
