San Gennaro Festival Wraps Up Sunday

Honoring Italian culture on the Jersey Shore.

The second annual Feast of San Gennaro at the Jersey Shore will continue for its final day between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Main Street in Belmar.

Authentic Italian foods, games wine, dancing and other activities will wrap up today between 10th and 12th avenues.

The festival also benefits the Belmar Hurricane Sandy Displaced Family Grant Program.

Officials will honor Claire Deike — a long-time borough resident, former Belmar Elementary School teacher and current Borough Council president -- as the Daughter of San Gennaro of the Jersey Shore.

They also will recognize Thomas Gagliano, a former executive director of New Jersey Transit and founding president of the Jersey Shore Partnership, as the Son of San Gennaro of the Jersey Shore.
