Sept. 11 Service in Wall Township

Somber ceremony marking the 12th anniversary of the attacks.

Wall Township remembered the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon with a quiet ceremony Tuesday.

Mayor Todd Luttman lead the service. He was joined by Committeeman Jeff Foster and Assemblyman David Rible and the 40 gathered to remember the day that claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 Americans.

Also joining Luttman were Dawn Connolly, Karen Lunder, Jeanne McAlary, Nancy Neidermeyer and Barbara O'Shea Lynch, who lost loved ones in the attacks. Each was presented with flowers.

An invocation was delivered by Pastor Stanley Ellison, of the Atonement Lutheran Church.
