Wall Fair Opens Thursday

Four days of rides and events for the whole family kicks off Thursday

The carousel horses are being attached. Temporary lights are being placed. The air behind town hall that is more accustomed to the sounds of childrens' soccer games is filled with a cacaphony of reversing trucks, air compressors and workers assembling carnival rides.

Everywhere you look, something is being assembled, placed, arranged or busily attended to in some fashion as scads of township and carnival workers set up this year's Wall Fair -- a four-day celebration set to kick off Thursday with a parade of slow-moving emergency vehicles set to roll into the Fair Grounds at 5 p.m. from their starting point at the Pathmark Shopping Center.

"All you can ride'' wristbands will be available for $45, allowing fairgoers to ride everything, all four days, as many times as you want, officials said. Daily wristbands are $25. Coupons for $5 off daily wristbands are available from the Recreation Department.
