Who Is Your Citizen Of The Year?

A township committee is accepting applications for the annual award

Applications are now being accepted for Wall Township’s 2011 Citizen of the Year.

The annual award, presented by the Wall Township Community Relations/Community Alliance Committee, is given to a resident who has performed outstanding service or has made exceptional voluntary contributions to Wall Township, according to a release on the township web site.

Nominations can be made by anyone, and can be done so anonymously. The award recipient is kept secret until the night of the presentation, the release says.

From among the nominations, the committee chooses someone who continually volunteers time, dedication and talents to better the community. The winner also will show leadership, organize or assist in organizational goals, serve on school committees or youth programs and have generally advanced the quality of life in Wall Township, the release says.

If you know anyone who meets or exceeds these criteria, you are encouraged to pick up an application at the Wall Township Clerk’s office or download the application here.
