A 19th Century Thanksgiving Sunday At Allaire

Annual free event to showcase Thanksgiving festivities of 1836

It’s Thanksgiving 1836 on Sunday at .

The living history village at Allaire State Park is holding its annual , 4265 Atlantic Ave.

The Village Chapel, Christ Episcopal Church, will begin the day with a period-correct service delivered by the Rite Reverend Thomas Tanser. Visitors may then wander the streets of the historic village to the home of Howell Works Company Manager James Parsahal Smith, where a traditional Thanksgiving feast will be prepared.

The village also will put on 19th century games and give hands-on demonstrations of cider pressing. The event is free.
