A Day In The Life In 1836

Historic Allaire Village presents a view of daily life in the 19th century

Gardens had to be tended, fences mended, water fetched.

Life in the early 19th century was, generally, not exactly the lap of luxury.

On Sunday, the Historic Village at Allaire will present an historically accurate portrait of daily 19th Century life during the "Village Life Event."

Visitors will see and can participate in daily chores, trades, crafts and leisure activities at the family-oriented event, designed to transport visitors to any day in 1836 at the Howell Works.

The free event runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Allaire.
