It's Christmas in the 1800s as re-enacted at Allaire this weekend when the living history museum on Atlantic Avenue re-creates Christmastime in the Old World tradation.

From noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the historic village will be putting on its annual Christmas event, with Mummer plays, hearth cooking and horse-drawn wagon rides throught the woods.

Bring your holiday cards and have them stamped with the United States Postal Service's Allaire Christmas Cache Cancellation Stamp.

The annual Christmas event is tailored to show how a typical day might have been during the Christmas season in 1836, Allaire officials have said. Tickets are available at the gate, by mail or phone.
