Allaire Village ~ 1836 Thanksgiving Day Celebration

Get an idea of how Thanksgiving was celebrated in the 19th Century.  Start the day at the Village Chapel where the Howell Works Company minister, The Rite Reverend Thomas Tanser, will deliver his Harvest Sermon of 1836.  Then meander through the streets of the Historic Village while enjoying the fall foliage.  Play some 19th Century games and see a hands-on demonstration of cider-pressing.  Stop by the Howell Works Company Manager's home and see a traditional Thanksgiving Feast being prepared over an open hearth.  Visit the Village Craftsmen in their shops to see demonstrations and explanations of their craftsmanship.
