Lantern Tours Saturday At Allaire

Historic Village's popular event returns for another year

The is scheduled to kick off its annual Holiday Latern Tours this weekend at the Atlantic Avenue living history museum.

The candlelight tours offer a glimpse of the historic village at night, with period actors and interpretors lead groups through the lantern-lit streets, explaining the holiday customs of the 1800s. All the buildings of the historic village will be open, including the Blacksmith Shop and the Howell Works Company Manager James Parshal Smith’s home, where interpreters will demonstrate hearth cooking.

The 90-minute Holiday Lantern Tours begin at the Row House Visitors Center where participants will be given an introduction to the Howell Works Company. Tours leave every 15 minutes and are limited to groups of 30.
