Tickets Available For Allaire Village Lantern Tours

Annual tradition takes visitors through a candlelight stroll through time

The Historic Village at Allaire is scheduled to kick off its annual Holiday Latern Tours Dec. 8 at the Atlantic Avenue living history museum.

The candlelight tours offer a glimpse of the historic village at night, with period actors and interpretors lead groups through the lantern-lit streets, explaining the holiday customs of the 1800s. All the buildings of the historic village will be open, including the Blacksmith Shop and the Howell Works Company Manager James Parshal Smith’s home, where interpreters will demonstrate hearth cooking.

The 90-minute Holiday Lantern Tours begin at the Row House Visitors Center where participants will be given an introduction to the Howell Works Company. Tours, which run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 8 and again on Dec. 15, leave every 15 minutes and are limited to groups of 30.
