Washington's Birthday Celebration Kicks Off New Season

Historic Village At Allaire to mark the birthday of the founder of the U.S.

The Historic Village at Allaire will kick off it's 2012 season with a celebration of George Washington's birthday on Sunday, Feb. 19.

The 1830s village will be open from noon to 3 p.m. with a 1 p.m. patriotic and commemorative service at the Chapel with the villagers of James P. Allaire's Howell Iron Works Company.

Featuring orations, toasts, and commemorative poetry of the period, the service will pay tribute to the young nation's first president.

The service will be followed by a procession through the village led by the Howell Iron Works Militia. Upon arriving at Allaire's mansion, visitors may take a tour of the building a sample a piece of birthday cake in honor of George Washington. 

On Sunday, Feb. 19, from noon to 3 p.m. celebrate George Washington's Birthday at the Historic Village at Allaire. At 1 p.m., the villagers of James P. Allaire's Howell Iron Works Company invite you to join them in the Chapel for an 1830s-style patriotic and commemorative service in honor of General Washington.
