The Manasquan Board of Education at a special meeting Tuesday accepted the resignation of a longtime administrator.
Margaret Hom, the district's business administrator for the last quarter century, will resign effective Nov. 1.
The vote to accept Hom's resignation was unanimous. Board member James Walsh was absent.
Hom has been approved by the Stafford Township school system to become the business administrator there. She was approved by the Stafford school board at its Aug. 28 meeting. Her contract runs from Nov. 1 to June 30, according to the Stafford Schools business office.
Hom, who lives in Ocean County, collected a $183,796 salary from the Manasquan district last year, according to public records.
Interim Manasquan schools Superintendent Renae LaPrete said Wednesday there were no immediate plans in place to begin the process of filling Hom's position, but that a plan should be in place by next Friday.
