Fundraiser For Sandy Victims Set For Saturday

Half of all money raise goes to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean counties

A Wall Township bowling alley on Saturday, Dec. 22, is scheduled to hold a fundraiser to benefit the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean counties.

The Lanes at Sea Girt, on Route 35 near Ocean Road, is scheduled to host a “Live Rock N Bowl’’ to help Hurricane Sandy victims through a donation to the FoodBank, located in Neptune Township.

The event is scheduled for 5 p.m. to midnight and will feature a one-game match between first responders from Monmouth and Ocean counties who have lined up sponsors to help raise money.

Also, professional bowler Park Bohn III will challenge local high school bowling hotshot Kenny Ryan in a two-game match.

Five local rock bands -- Strictly 60s, Hammerhead Stew, The Jersey Surecats, The NOBS, & Guy Smiley – are scheduled to perform an hour set each on a stage that floats above the lanes.

Suggested donation is $10 and the bowling alley will donate 50 percent of all the night’s proceeds to the FoodBank.

Those who would like to help raise money can stop by the alley and pick up a sponsorship form. Get sponsors to pledge five to ten cents per pin that you knock down for three games. If you get 10 or more sponsors, your bowling and shoe rental is free.
