Nelke Takes Two Trophy Races at GSQMRC

GSQMRC held its B, Light and Heavy World Formula Trophy races on Sunday, August 26.

The Garden State Quarter Midget Racing Club held its B, Light World Formula and Heavy World Formula Trophy Races on Sunday, August 26 under bright summer skies.

Shawna Winters would set fast time for the B division with a track record 6.909 seconds around the 1/20th mile track.  She would also take fast time for the Heavy World Formula race with a quick 6.791.  Jake Nelke held fast time for the Light World Formula with a time of 6.769.

Nelke would continue his fast ways on the day taking both the B checkers first and the Light World Formula race.  Brandon Grosso beat the speedy Winters to the line to take the trophy for the Heavy World Formula race.

Joining Nelke as a multiple winner on the day would be Jimmy Potts as he held off the field in both his Senior Honda and Light 160 A-mains.  Brandon Shipley would also take both the Junior Honda and Junior Animal checkered flags. Winters didn't leave the track empty handed as she found victory lane in her Heavy 160 A-main.  In the Heavy Honda A-main, Ryan Gerber would find his way to the finish line first, finding himself back in victory lane after a long spell away.

GSQMRC will be off this coming weekend as Doylestown Quarter Midget Racing Club holds their Annual Keystones.  Racing will resume at Lil Wall on Route 34 in Wall Township on Sunday, September 9 with the Junior and Senior Animal Trophy races on tap.
