Traffic on Belmar Boulevard was snarled somewhat early afternoon Tuesday because of an accident near the Route 18 overpass.
A red Chrysler SUV was facing oncoming traffic and blocking the westbound lane shortly after 2 p.m. The front end of the vehicle was smashed, but no other vehicle was apparent at the scene where Wall EMS removed the driver, who appeared to be injured.
Wall Police were diverting traffic around the scene. No other information was immediately available.
