Mayor: New Dog Park Coming To North Wall

Mayor Jeffrey Foster says Marconi Road dog park could be open by November

Fido may have a new place to run by the end of the month.

Mayor Jeffrey Foster said the town is taking over the facility formerly run by the Agility Association for Central Jersey, commonly known as JAG, and turning it into a public dog park.

JAG is a dog agility training club which operated a site on Marconi Road. The organization has moved to a new facility on Watson Road.

“It’s been a long time coming,’’ Foster said.

The area is already fenced and public works employees will be cleaning it up and putting the finishing touches on the property, Foster said.

“I personally think everyone has viewed it as a bigger project than it is,’’ said Township Administrator Jeffry Bertrand at a recent meeting. “It’ll work out well.’’

Foster said the hope is to have the new dog park open by November.

“We’ve been back and forth about this for the past several years,’’ Foster said. “Hopefully we’ll have it open by the end of the month and it’ll be open for business for all Wall residents.’’
