Mayor: New Dog Park Coming To North Wall

Mayor Jeffrey Foster says Marconi Road dog park could be open by November

Fido may have a new place to run by the end of the month.

Mayor Jeffrey Foster said the town is taking over the facility formerly run by the Agility Association for Central Jersey, commonly known as JAG, and turning it into a public dog park.

JAG is a dog agility training club which operated a site on Marconi Road. The organization has moved to a new facility on Watson Road.

“It’s been a long time coming,’’ Foster said.

The area is already fenced and public works employees will be cleaning it up and putting the finishing touches on the property, Foster said.

“I personally think everyone has viewed it as a bigger project than it is,’’ said Township Administrator Jeffry Bertrand at a recent meeting. “It’ll work out well.’’

Foster said the hope is to have the new dog park open by November.

“We’ve been back and forth about this for the past several years,’’ Foster said. “Hopefully we’ll have it open by the end of the month and it’ll be open for business for all Wall residents.’’

Maybe now the people will go there with their dogs and enjoy it instead of the N.Wall Little League. The people let their dogs run free ( no leash ) and disturb other people who are just trying to enjoy themselves. Not everyone wants to pet your " wonderful, slobbering / doesn't bite " dog. Keep your dogs leashed like the signs state. thnx

Yay!!! There are hardly any places for dogs who do not have fenced in yards. This will be so great!!!

Carl, you will not have to cross Marconi Road in order to access the dog park. The Parking lot will now be next to the fenced in area. The 2 areas will be fully fenced. Personally I believe residents will be very excited to use the facility.

Does this mean Wall will ENFORCE the dog laws now ? Does this mean RESPONSIBLE dog owners can walk their dogs at the N.W. Walking trail without getting HARRASSED by dogs off leash. Can we walk the trail with out dog crap all over the place ? I like how the outlaw dog owners turn their backs when their dog is running off leash and craps. Pretending not to see,so they dont have to pick it up.

Ok on the parking lot. I was remembering the dog club being there and crossing the rd. hopefully there will be enough room for cars parking

This is fantastic news. Another great reason to be proud of Wall.

Good, now dog owners can go there instead of letting their unleashed dogs poop all over Fisherman's Cove.

I know there are pros and cons to this issue and I don't want to bw negative about this. I am happy that the space is being used, however I think my taxes could be put to better use. The town wants to spend $3.5 millon dollars on new vehicles to pick up my trash, pick up the trash only once a week, not lay off any current employees, replace our retiring administrator giving the new administrator an outrageous salary, and use the town people to recreate a new dog park, and most likely continue to maintain it. Hmmmm! I wonder!

Did this dog park open? There are no updates or information on this project. I have been waiting since Sandy to see news.

I just wanted to day that my dog and I are sad that this exciting news was never updated. I do not know why Wall Patch does not think the opening of the dog park is no longer important. I just wanted people to know that I found at at PetSmart today that the dog park is OPEN in Wall. I just thought that people should know. I heard it is nice and I can not wait to check it out!

Don't do it. The Patch just wants others to do its job. The Patch reporter was moved to the HowellRead More Patch. Wall no longer has a reporter specifically assigned to our town. No longer do we have a reporter attending meetings and reporting on the important news relating to Wall.
