The bits of ice, dust and rubble left behind from Halley's Comet, which last visited Earth in 1986, is expected to put on dazzling meteor shower this weekend.
Each year the Earth's orbit brings it into contact with a trail of cosmic dust left by the famous comet, according to Space.com
The Orionid meteor shower peaks in the early morning hours Sunday. The meteors will appear near the Orion constellation. This time of the year, the star formation rises at about 10 p.m. Eastern and remains prominent until about 3 a.m.
