School District Keeping Watch On Hurricane Sandy

Letter to parents says district will make decisions on school openings on Sunday night

School district officials are keeping an eye on Hurricane Sandy and will make a decision Sunday on how, or if, the storm affects regular school opening on Monday.

In an email sent Friday afternoon to parents, Schools Superintendent Daniel Simon said the district would hold off making any decisions until events revealed themselves over the weekend.

"As with any impending storm, we are diligently following all available information and have established open lines of communication with Wall Township officials as well as the Office of Emergency Management,'' the email reads. "We expect to have a much better sense of the severity of the storm by Sunday evening."
