Utility Watch: Could This Be The Day?

JCP&L seems to be on a final push to restore power in town

Good Morning, Wall Township.

It’s another day without power for a lot of people, the 13th for some. Jersey Central Power & Light is reporting that 783 people are still without electricity. The company says everyone will be restored by the end of the day, however.

The voracity of the company’s claims have been openly questioned by the Wall Township Police and the Office of Emergency Management, however. Each agency has said the utility company has not received accurate or timely information about power outages or restorations. So it’s anyone’s guess.

Some Wall Patch readers are reporting that JCP&L called their homes Saturday morning to report that power, even if already restored, will be turned off in some areas of the township while repairs are made to a substation. It could be out for several hours. So the drama continues.

Meanwhile, the Office of Emergency Management sent a  message Saturday saying household garbage and recycling will be picked up on Monday for those residents who have regular Monday pickup, despite the Veteran’s Day holiday, the message said.

There is also a temporary storm debris area set up at the Camp Evans parking lot at 1098 Monmouth Boulevard where residents can drop off branches and trees felled during the storms. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, the message said.
