Wall Schools Closed The Remainder Of Week

Travel ban, lack of power and a general mess too much to overcome

Wall Township Schools will be closed for the rest of the week, Superintendent Daniel Simon said Wednesday.

The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, with trees down on homes, in driveways, across roads and power lines and a report from emergency officials saying that all residents in Wall were without power two days after the powerful hurricane laid waste to coastal towns and created havoc in the township, is blamed for the closure.

Notifications were sent out by telephone call to parents around 3 p.m. Wednesday. No further information on school opening was available.
