Showing the burning of the Yule Log is a time-honored tradition in the New York City area. First created in 1968 by television station WPIX in New York, the Yule Log program was broadcast for 23 conseutive years on Christmas Eve or Christmas day, sometimes both. It was canceled in the 1990s and for the year 2000, but brought back by popular demand.
It has now gone digital and we're providing it for you this Christmas day.
Put it on and get away from the computer. Today's a day to enjoy the company of those you love and this is our way of keeping distractions to a minimum.
There will be more local news tomorrow, assuredly.
But that's tomorrow.
