Women's Self Defense Class

Free Women’s Self-Defense
Course

The Wall Community Alliance and Mat Giachetti of LifeForce USA will host a free Women’s Self-Defense course at 7 PM
on Tuesday Nov. 19th, 2013. The program will be held in the Wall Municipal Building,
2700 Allaire Rd. Wall. The class will be held downstairs. Mat graciously
volunteers his time to offer this class to the community each year for women.
The Wall Police Department will also be on hand to share specific pointers
regarding being safe.

The participants will learn
how to recognize and avoid harmful situations.
Discussions on safety will include topics such as home safety, travel
safety, and shopping safety.  If a rape,
or possible rape, has occurred, the correct steps for the victim to take, to
ensure proper verification and possible prosecution of the attacker will be
covered.

The majority of the seminar
deals with Self-Defense skills to use during an attack.  Each participant will learn how to properly
handle themselves prior to an attack happening, both verbally and physically,
that might scare off an attacker, as well as skills to physically ward off an
attacker, especially those that are bigger.
They will learn to defend themselves from attacks in front of them, from
behind, and those that happen on the ground, using appropriate amount of
force.  The proper techniques on how to
strike with many different body parts (legs, hands, elbows, etc.), and the
proper points to strike on an attacker will be covered. He will teach everyone
how to manipulate weak points that can be found on any body type.  The participants will learn how to use items
that they carry with them everyday, i.e., keys, pens or pencils, newspaper, umbrellas,
hairbrushes, etc, as weapons to defend against an attack. They will learn how
to inflict enough pain to their attacker in order to get away.

The
class is open to surrounding towns and is free of charge. You must be 16 or
older and if under 18 you must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear
comfortable clothes. This course is a wonderful opportunity for all women from
