For the first time in New Jersey American Youth Football Jersey Shore Conference history, three teams are in the conference championships from one town, AYF officials said.
The Wall Knights Youth Football program has teams at the Cadet level -- 9 and 10 year olds - the Jr. Pee Wee -- 10 and 11 year olds - and the Jr. Midget -- 12 and 13 year olds -- who are vying for a trip to the National Championship, held in Orlando, Fla.
The NJAYF Championships are being held at Toms River North High School on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
The Wall Youth Cheer program has squads competing at the Jr. Pee Wee and Jr. Midget level. Those squads will be performing in the Sun Bank Arena in Trenton on Saturday for the same trip to the Orlando national championships.
