The bottom of the fourth the Yankees lead off with a walk by Garret Kettyle which later turned into a run score for Garret and the Yankees accumulated three runs in the inning to take an 8 - 2 lead.  Key fielding plays by Jake Halbe and Brian Byrne kept the Giants in check throughout the game.  The Giants got one more run in the top of the 6th before Jimmy Nappo shut them down and struck out the final three batters to win the Championship.

9-year-old All-Stars

Game 1, 6/18 at 9:00 a.m.
North Wall wins 16-9 over North Howell to open the District 11 9-year-old Tournament. It
was a total team effort with every player contributing to the victory. The player of the game was Elijah Scheininger who went 3-4 and had a key throw from first base to nail a Howell player at the plate trying to score. Trailing 5-1 after 1 inning of play, North Wall was able to get back into the game thru solid relief pitching in the form of Ryan Napolitano for two and two-thirds innings, and Johnny O'Hern for one and one-third. Neither allowed an earned run. Grant Shulman closed the game and struck out the side in the bottom of the 6th inning. Michael Caputo, Dale McNally and Johnny O'Hern had key hits in the game.

Game #2  Sunday, Father's Day
North Wall beat the host Howell Central 11-1 in a 4-inning game Sunday, with 5 runs
scored in the bottom of the 4th inning for their second straight victory.
The player of the game was Grant Shulman who went 2-2 with a sacrifice fly
and closed the game with two strikeouts in the top of the 4th inning. Eijah
Scheininger started the game and pitched a shutout for 3 and one-third innings. Again,
it was a total team effort for North Wall with timely hitting and good
defense. Every spot in the order scored at least one run and Nick DeLaCruz,
Brett Palmer, Krystof Nikola and Christian Martin had key hits in the game.

North Wall now advances to meet Ocean on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at Howell Central Little League.
