Steven G. Littleson Appointed Executive Vice President of Meridian Health

As Executive Vice President, Steve’s responsibilities will focus on operations for Meridian’s six hospitals as well as system wide initiatives and functions. 

“For the past 16 years, Steve has done a truly amazing job as president of Jersey Shore University Medical Center,” says John K. Lloyd, FACHE, president of Meridian Health. “During his tenure, Jersey Shore University Medical Center became a university affiliate of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, completed a $300 million “Transforming Care Project”, and became a state designated children’s hospital.”

Steve became president of Jersey Shore University Medical Center in 1998, shortly after Meridian Health was formed.  Prior to that, Steve was the president and chief executive officer of Southern Ocean County Health System (now Southern Ocean medical Center) from 1992 to 1998.  He began his health care career in 1986 when he became a vice president of Sentara Hampton General Hospital in Hampton, Virginia, which was affiliated with Sentara Health System, Norfolk, VA.

“Steve has an outstanding record of accomplishments and has exhibited the necessary competencies and drive Meridian will need to succeed in a rapidly changing environment,” added Lloyd.

Steve is involved in numerous professional organizations, including the New Jersey Hospital Association and New Jersey Council of Teaching Hospitals.  He has also served on numerous boards, such as the Boys Scouts of America, American Red Cross, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
