"Civil War: The Untold Story" comes to Library Headquarters

Chris Wheeler, the producer of the PBS series, Civil War: The Untold Story, will host a sneak peek screening of the documentary at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan on Tuesday, April 1.

Chris Wheeler, the producer of the PBS series, Civil War: The Untold Story, will host a sneak peek screening of the documentary at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan on Tuesday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m.

 

Wheeler will introduce Episode 5 of the documentary series and take questions from the audience afterward.

Civil War: The Untold Story focuses on the Western Theater of the war.  This visually stunning five-part documentary series is narrated by Elizabeth McGovern (Downton Abbey) and produced for public television by Great Divide Pictures.

Episode 5, With Malice Toward None, focuses on the Battles for Atlanta and the influence they had on Lincoln’s bid for reelection in 1864 against former Gen. George McClellan. In the film, historian Allen Guelzo says the presidential election of 1864 “may have been the most critical juncture in the nation’s history.”
