A Poisoning & a Shark
Today in New Jersey history:
July 6, 1860: Reverend Jacob S. Harden, a Methodist minister in Mount Lebanon, Hunterdon County, murdered his wife Dora by poisoning her. His last words before his execution were “I did not know that poisoning was considered murder.”
July 6, 1916: The summer shark attack surge continued along the New Jersey coast as a hotel employee in Spring Lake was attacked and bled to death.
