A Tornado in Bergen
Today in New Jersey history:
July 13, 1895: A tornado hit Bergen County, destroying most of the houses in the little town of Cherry Hill near Hackensack. Three people were killed, and an estimated several hundred more injured. The tornado then passed over the Palisades and Harlem and touched ground again at Woodhaven, Long Island, where it killed another person.
