Today in New Jersey history:
March 20, 1906: Oswald George “Ozzie” Nelson was born in Jersey City. His family moved to Ridgefield Park, where he graduated from Ridgefield Park High School. Nelson played football in high school and at Rutge...rs University. He later became a well known bandleader and, with his wife Harriet, produced and starred in the radio show “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” in 1944. The show became a long running popular television series beginning in 1952, also starring the Nelson children, David and Ricky.
