Obituary: Christian Thomas Benedict

Christian Thomas Benedict - June 22, 1976 to November 24, 2013

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing” 2 Timothy 4:7,8

Any one person who had met Chris was instantly taken by his sweet smile and infectious laughter. He enjoyed life to the fullest and always used the motto “work hard, play hard”. You would find Chris in the woods four wheeling or at the beach splashing around in the water. He had a strong passion for music and loved playing his guitars.

If you had the pleasure of knowing Chris you knew that he loved building homes and working out in the field with contractors but that digging in the dirt was his happy place. He would refer to running heavy equipment as “playtime” and would get excited over operating even the smallest of pieces. All employers considered him an asset for his knowledge and his God given ability for accuracy without the use of survey equipment. His daughters found this to be a great asset as well for when they would go to the arcades at the boardwalk, their father was the master of the crane game and would win them prize after prize with little to no effort.

A Manasquan native, Chris graduated Manasquan HS in 1994 and went on to attend Greenville Technical in South Carolina. He returned back to New Jersey where he met his wife and started a family. They moved to North Carolina and continued to grow their family.
